To all the young whimper snappers....

I know it's been a little while since I've posted anything, but I had to go on hiatus because life was getting a little hectic for a minute. But now I am back with a new list. I am seriously contemplating renaming this blog 'List of 28 Things...and a Squirrel's Not One'. lol. Yeah... just a thought.

Moving onward.... So I was sitting and watching tv one day when this 'List of Things That Make Me Feel Old' beat its way into my head with a Pixy Stix (see also Things to do/not do in a horror senario.)

1. Tv shows - A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, Alvin and the Chipmunks (cartoon version), the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Step By Step, Family, Matters, Boy Meets World just to name a few.

(Aww....brings back memories. Wait...what? Not those types of memories you perve! lol.)

2. Shoelace buckles, as I like to call them, or clips.

(Not the exact ones I'm talking about but you get the gist.)

3. When extremely loud bass music starts to get on your nerves.

(^ Am I right? lol.)

4. The 90's SNL cast : Nealon, Sandler, Farley, Myers, Spade, etc.

(when SNL was actually good.)

5. Music - Hanson, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, Britney Spears(before she went crazy) , Cake, Nirvana, etc.

(Mmm Bop is now stuck in your head... you're welcome. :-) )

6. I Spy books

(Admit it, you liked them.)

7. When girls could never have too many hair clips and almost every one of them had a butterfly clip.

(the sad thing is I still have mine.)

8. Movies - the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, Aladdin, etc.

(A time when we all believed in prince charming.)

9. The original gaming systems like the NES, Sega Genisis, Super NES

(The reason most of us have lung issues.)

10. When Windows 95 was thought to be awesome.

(A time when the most monitors got smashed.)

11. I conjunction with #10, When 3.5 Floppy disks were the shizz.

(It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it.)

12. Barbie actually looked descent and not like a 16 old hooker and Skipper was still around.

(Ho-ishness not included.)

13. The only way to get in touch with someone was by landline phone, drive to see them, or mail.

(Ring, ring, ....Hello...)

14. Tales From the Crypt. I know this should've gone under tv shows, but I thought it deserved a listing by itself.

(I don't think that's Maybelline, he's just born with it.)

15. Cassette tapes and VHS

(The original pirating. Arrrg....)

So, this was just part one of what I am going to dub 'Nostalgia List' for short. I know some of the things on here may not seem that old, but they are to me so bug off!! ...I'm sorry baby I love you! lol. Anyway, I hope everybody has felt as old as I have reading this. If anyone has any ideas that they want to give me for pt. 2 leave a comment and I'll see about adding it. 'Til next time I bid you 'Adieu'.

So Glad To Make Your Acquaintance

I guess the weight of curiosity got the better of me today. I finally gave in to the celebrity doppelganger trend on facebook. For those who don't know it's when you post a profile picture of the celebrity you look the most like. There's this little site called myheritage.com that has a celebrity collage of your look alikes.

These were my closest matches according to the site:

1. Holly Marie Combs - 80%

2. Kate Beckinsale - 78%

3. Norkys Batista - 76%

4. Amy Weber - 76%

5. Blake Lively - 75%

6. Anna Paquin - 74%

7. Sandra Bullock - 74%

8. Summer Altice - 72%

9. Gisele Bündchen - 72%

10. Gillian Anderson -72%

Here's my photo that everything was compared to:

I didn't think I was going to be compared to all of these women. I'm not that hot. lol. Oh well, a morale booster every now and again doesn't hurt.

Just wow.....

I've been in a FAILtacular mood lately. So instead of doing my usual venting I'm just going to show the world the awesomeness of being FAILbulous.

Looks like a sign of things to come.........

ummm... I think that they've already invented a flying vehicle...it's called an airplane!

Apparently he's a big fan of the Divinyls and Prince.

I can just taste the rainbow now......

Reminds me of a few people I know.

Yeah...because the reception from inside sucked.

Last but not least......................

Because you don't want to get him that dog he's always wanted.

OMG WTF? BBQ! (pt. 1)

Ever have a wtf moment? I have noticed that there have been a lot of those happening lately. Not to me mind you but to the so-called beautiful people that we have come to know and love/hate. Here are just some of the moments in a series I am pursuing called "Moments in WTF History", Celebrity edition:

In no set order -

Lady Gaga

Most, if not all, of us have heard of her. Her first hit single Poker Face made me a fan but her uncanny and outrageous choice in outfits have made me go 'wtf?' multiple times. I think she has literally gone Gaga in the head. Come on. Who else do you know dresses up like a Slim Jim and bubble wrap? <- I guess people are sending out gag gifts early this year.

FRED

Ok, there's not much to say here except, you guessed it, 'wtf?' I still cannot believe this kid has gotten so popular and his own shirt logo. Me thinks I should do stupid crap and post it on youtube so I can get rich and famous.

Ellen as A.I. judge

This is just one of the many reasons that I have not had the urge to want to watch American Idol again. Come on people! The woman does not sing, can't really dance, and so what if she's a fan of music? You don't see me up there as a judge based solely on that reasoning. It's no wonder that Simon is leaving the show.

Stupid things Taylor Swift says

Meanwhile, Swift didn't want to jinx anything by predicting her chances of winning any of the eight Grammys she's nominated for, but today's date—1/13/10—is a good sign."My lucky number is thirteen and I've seen it so much lately," she said. "I think it means positive things."

"I was driving down the road the other day and I saw my face on the movie poster for the first time," she said. "That was really crazy."

Yeah, I know 13 to some people is considered a lucky number. But it doesn't matter what day you predict something like an awards show. They're more than likely rigged anyway so a not so heartfelt congrats goes out o her for more than likely winning and stealing the award from somebody else who deserved more. In response to the last quote, yeah it is crazy that someone was dumb enough to put her in a movie. Just shut up already you look like a blow up doll when you talk.

Adam Lambert

There's not really a comment I can say about this except about one of the other many reasons I don't watch A.I. anymore. Come on America, there are better singers in the country besides this glam idiot rock guy.

You're yes then you're no......

Sometimes I don't get people. Maybe I'm not suppose to. It's like you think you know a person and it turns out that in the end you really don't. You know the type of person I'm referring to, the type that you love to hang out with and are fun to be around but wind up driving you up the damn wall. I like to diagnose this as the Hot and Cold Syndrome.

Let me put this in hypothetical terms. Then again screw it, let me tell you the half truth. (I'm arbitrary, don't judge! You should know this by now.) Anyway, I was hanging with a friend of mine at a bar. Sounds like a making of a bad joke, but the friend in question couldn't seem to make up their mind. They wanted to leave at a certain time since they had other stuff to do the next day, but instead kept saying they wanted to leave later then the next minute wanted to leave earlier. By this point I was thinking 'I hope everything's ok.' Keep in mind we were both sober, that is key in this tale. Come to find out they wanted to leave on account of someone else that they wanted to talk to some douche bag at their house and cut our night out even shorter. By this point I had that Katy Perry song stuck in my head. Needless to say this wasn't all of the story, but I'm not going to get into the rest because it would take too long to type up and I just don't feel like delving into it anymore.

I've noticed after all these years of life I seem to attract these kinds of people. You think I should be used to it by now, but it never gets any easier. I'm not trying to dis my friend, I love them as I would my own family, but there comes a time in people's lives when they need to wake up and see what they're doing to the people that they're closest to. I know we all make mistakes, hell, I've made a lot myself and I have apologized and tried to make up for every one of them and I know it's not easy. The point I'm trying to make is learn to make up your own mind and don't drive people ape shit crazy trying to decide.

Luke warm water is better than being scolded or frozen to death.

Why So Arbitrary?

As my first entry I would like to rant about the word arbitrary and how I had this grand idea to name my blog after it. I know some or you are thinking 'Wow, I stumbled upon this blog hoping to find something interesting, but instead I find this piece instead. The girl must not have a life.' which I would reply, 'You're still reading it and you may be right about the not having a life thing, not sure yet. lol.' (wouldn't actually say lol, but you get the point. moving on.) While others may be thinking 'Please don't give a definition, please, please, pretty please!' unto which I would said, 'Too late I'm going to give you one anyway so deal with it!'.

And for the moment you've all been waiting for (Tada!), the dictionary's definition of arbitrary:

ar·bi·trary

Pronunciation: \ˈär-bə-ˌtrer-ē, -ˌtre-rē\

Function: adjective
Date: 15th century

1 : depending on individual discretion (as of a judge) and not fixed by law
2 a : not restrained or limited in the exercise of power : ruling by absolute authority b : marked by or resulting from the unrestrained and often tyrannical exercise of power
3 a : based on or determined by individual preference or convenience rather than by necessity or the intrinsic nature of something *b : existing or coming about seemingly at random or by chance or as a capricious and unreasonable act of will*

......I think you get the point. This all came about when my roommate and I were having this deliciously random conversation about the last season of American Idol and Adam Lambert? Not quite sure on that factoid. Apparently that night I found out I was arbitrary, after some 21 years of life I never knew this about myself. Ever happened to you? Happened to me. And I would like to take this opportunity to tell my wonderful roommate 'Thank you for giving me fodder for my first blog entry. I also think everyone out in bloggersville appreciates it too.'

Riveting story, right?

But yeah..... I know this was probably the worst or best, depending, two minutes of your life if you made it this far. Unto that I would like to say thank you for sitting and reading my senseless babbling. Hopefully I didn't kill every cell in your brain. I promise the next blogs I do will not be this crappy. If there are going to be anymore I have not a clue, for I fear that I may have just been booed and wtf'ed into oblivion. Until then see you on the flip side or something to that extinct.

To Be Continued??..........
