The Light Side of the Moon

I'm happy today. I just saw where a have one new follower. (hey new follower! *waves*) But on a more serious note I was thinking "Wow, my 'about me' says I'm a visual arts major but I've never put anything up to actually prove that." So (tada!), you guessed it, I'm going to show you the world of Anna's artwork, at least a taste of it.

~Most of the pieces you are about to see are from about a year ago to now.~

These are just two of the many drawings I have along with my sucky painting (not that great with paint):

The log that caused me to sweat to death and to have massive mosquito bites. Oh, did I forget to mention the professor gave the class almost a month to finish this project and regardless if you were finished you had to stay out there in the middle of the woods too? I didn't? Oh well, wasn't that important anyway. lol.

I had to draw this completely in the dark with little light because for some reason the same professor I mentioned above thought it amusing to watch us suffer.

Same professor here too, different class, same semester. What was I thinking? But yeah, he had a thing for these blue Christmas balls and a bust of a head. (Insert dirty joke here.) lol. Didn't really learn how to paint nor did I to begin with.

These are from printmaking:

This is from a project that I'm turning in tomorrow. So you all get the first glimpse.

From my previous project and a class favorite so I thought it to be novel idea to show all of you.

This is one of my favorite prints.

These pieces I did this past semester for my ceramics class. Stupid clay, of which most of the time did not agree with me and do what I told it to do. So what if I talk to chunks of clay? Don't judge me!! Anyway, here they are:

Yes this is clay, and no you cannot have a bite.

My whimsical pinch pot.

The angel I had to redo two times before she decided not to fall over and break into pieces. And yes, what you see is hours upon hours of piecing stuff back together, a lot of epoxy glue that will make you high, and tears of aggravation. Which in the end was worth it.

My coil pot that was suppose to be a 'white' flower with blue petals. Stupid glaze!

So my photography stuff was getting jealous...:

B&W photo with just the red nail polish showing.

Two different pictures morphed together with other objects added.

Good ol' Chester. :-)

Both from the same location. See the rail at the end of the path?

(There are more but didn't want to slow people's computers down by massive picture overload.)

The crafty stuff:

My first ever tapestry.

Tom & Jerry

Part of my Athena costume. (helmet, shield, mask, and spear)

Me representing my tie dye. *In west Philadelphia born and raised, in the playground where I spent most of my days...* (You can thank my roommate for getting that song stuck in my head.)

My favorite tie dye shirt with a hippie skirt.

I hope y'all enjoyed seeing what I do. Yeah, yeah, I know the picture quality was suckish on most of these. I'm a starving artist that can't afford these fancy picture taking machines. lol. That's what trusty little camera phones are for. :-) But anyway, I hope the trip to Anna's art world was interesting. See y'all peeps later!

To all the young whimper snappers....

I know it's been a little while since I've posted anything, but I had to go on hiatus because life was getting a little hectic for a minute. But now I am back with a new list. I am seriously contemplating renaming this blog 'List of 28 Things...and a Squirrel's Not One'. lol. Yeah... just a thought.

Moving onward.... So I was sitting and watching tv one day when this 'List of Things That Make Me Feel Old' beat its way into my head with a Pixy Stix (see also Things to do/not do in a horror senario.)

1. Tv shows - A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, Alvin and the Chipmunks (cartoon version), the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Step By Step, Family, Matters, Boy Meets World just to name a few.

(Aww....brings back memories. Wait...what? Not those types of memories you perve! lol.)

2. Shoelace buckles, as I like to call them, or clips.

(Not the exact ones I'm talking about but you get the gist.)

3. When extremely loud bass music starts to get on your nerves.

(^ Am I right? lol.)

4. The 90's SNL cast : Nealon, Sandler, Farley, Myers, Spade, etc.

(when SNL was actually good.)

5. Music - Hanson, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, Britney Spears(before she went crazy) , Cake, Nirvana, etc.

(Mmm Bop is now stuck in your head... you're welcome. :-) )

6. I Spy books

(Admit it, you liked them.)

7. When girls could never have too many hair clips and almost every one of them had a butterfly clip.

(the sad thing is I still have mine.)

8. Movies - the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, Aladdin, etc.

(A time when we all believed in prince charming.)

9. The original gaming systems like the NES, Sega Genisis, Super NES

(The reason most of us have lung issues.)

10. When Windows 95 was thought to be awesome.

(A time when the most monitors got smashed.)

11. I conjunction with #10, When 3.5 Floppy disks were the shizz.

(It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it.)

12. Barbie actually looked descent and not like a 16 old hooker and Skipper was still around.

(Ho-ishness not included.)

13. The only way to get in touch with someone was by landline phone, drive to see them, or mail.

(Ring, ring, ....Hello...)

14. Tales From the Crypt. I know this should've gone under tv shows, but I thought it deserved a listing by itself.

(I don't think that's Maybelline, he's just born with it.)

15. Cassette tapes and VHS

(The original pirating. Arrrg....)

So, this was just part one of what I am going to dub 'Nostalgia List' for short. I know some of the things on here may not seem that old, but they are to me so bug off!! ...I'm sorry baby I love you! lol. Anyway, I hope everybody has felt as old as I have reading this. If anyone has any ideas that they want to give me for pt. 2 leave a comment and I'll see about adding it. 'Til next time I bid you 'Adieu'.

So Glad To Make Your Acquaintance

I guess the weight of curiosity got the better of me today. I finally gave in to the celebrity doppelganger trend on facebook. For those who don't know it's when you post a profile picture of the celebrity you look the most like. There's this little site called myheritage.com that has a celebrity collage of your look alikes.

These were my closest matches according to the site:

1. Holly Marie Combs - 80%

2. Kate Beckinsale - 78%

3. Norkys Batista - 76%

4. Amy Weber - 76%

5. Blake Lively - 75%

6. Anna Paquin - 74%

7. Sandra Bullock - 74%

8. Summer Altice - 72%

9. Gisele Bündchen - 72%

10. Gillian Anderson -72%

Here's my photo that everything was compared to:

I didn't think I was going to be compared to all of these women. I'm not that hot. lol. Oh well, a morale booster every now and again doesn't hurt.

Just wow.....

I've been in a FAILtacular mood lately. So instead of doing my usual venting I'm just going to show the world the awesomeness of being FAILbulous.

Looks like a sign of things to come.........

ummm... I think that they've already invented a flying vehicle...it's called an airplane!

Apparently he's a big fan of the Divinyls and Prince.

I can just taste the rainbow now......

Reminds me of a few people I know.

Yeah...because the reception from inside sucked.

Last but not least......................

Because you don't want to get him that dog he's always wanted.
